Mechanic

Heritage Landscape Services, LLC (HLS) is looking to fill the position of Mechanic. The applicant would be responsible for working with the fleet manager and would be working on a fleet of over 100 landscape trucks, trailers and landscape related equipment. Salary will be based on experience/education. Benefits include competitive pay, medical and dental benefits, 401(k) retirement program, paid vacation and sick leave for qualified individuals. This is a full time, year round position.

Job qualifications: Certificate in Diesel Engine Repair or a minimum of 4 years experience working on one-ton and non-CDL trucks (Ford F-350 – F-650). Landscape Management Supervisor

We are seeking individuals to fill the position of Landscape Management Supervisor. The primary responsibility of the Landscape Management Supervisor is to ensure that our client’s expectations for landscape management are being met or exceeded. This will be accomplished by managing, coordinating, and monitoring the performance of the maintenance crew(s) assigned to them to ensure that our client’s and HLS standards are obtained. In addition, he/she will be required to support their Area Manager a variety of assignments.

The Supervisor would be responsible for maintaining various jobsites throughout Northern VA. Performing landscape management operations and working with / managing a crew of three to five crew people. We offer competitive salaries and benefits. Qualifications: two to three years landscape management experience, proven track record working within the industry and a clean driving record. Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus. Enhancement Department Manager

Heritage Landscape Services, LLC (HLS) is looking to fill the position of Enhancement Department Manager. The applicant’s duties and requirements:

Overview:
The Enhancement Department Manager is customer service position fulfilling all the internal clients needs . This position provides direct support for the Branch Manager while working closely with Area Managers, Project Managers, Field Supervisors and crew personnel. At times there will be external client interaction candidate should have a professional demeanor and be able to communicate with client in an intelligent way. Responsibilities include but are not limited to crew supervision, quality control, procurement of plant material and hard goods.

Position Requirements:

  • Strong horticultural knowledge.
  • Four years of formal horticultural education or 5 years proven field experience as a manager within the industry.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills – Word, Excel, Power Point / Microsoft Office.
  • Team Player- We want an individual that’s willing to help out where ever is needed without having to coax or coerce to get the something done.
  • Interact with crew personnel to maintain the highest industry standards and profit margins. This would mean setting up the job with crew and following through through all stages of work.
  • Set up and maintain enhancement production schedule and generate income prospectively to the budget.
  • Mentor and train personnel in order to produce a product you / HLS are proud of eliminating callbacks. Callbacks = loss profit.
  • Interact with vendors: Flower growers, mulch suppliers, grass seed suppliers and nurseries.
  • Manage purchases for high quality goods at reasonable market pricing.
  • Hire, terminate and evaluate new and existing employees.
  • Always be recruiting! Finding a qualified team that works effectively and efficiently is a top priority.
  • Recommend pay increases for direct reports.
  • Maintain and schedule department resources in order to perform contracted obligations.
  • Track loss control of equipment, trucks and trailers. Investigate and correct any losses identified.
  • Job costing = tracking hours used to budget hours. Take corrective action if jobs are tracking over hours budgeted.

Candidate must hold an unexpired drivers license from a local jurisdiction from where they reside. A copy of a current drivers license record (no older than 30 days) must be presented when applying for this position.

Base salary plus quarterly bonus based on not exceeding budgeted labor and exceeding budgeted revenue goals.

Plant Healthcare Technician / Turf Applicator Technician

We are seeking to fill the position of Plant Healthcare Technicians and Turf Care Technicians. Candidate must have a strong knowledge of plant healthcare, plant identification, plant pests and diseases on ornamentals. Strong knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM).  Applicant must have at least three years of previous experience, horticultural knowledge, ability to communicate effectively with customers and a positive attitude. Landscape Maintenance/Enhancement Crew Personnel

We are seeking individuals to fill the position of crew personnel. This is a full time seasonal position no part time positions available. The applicants would be responsible for working with supervisors on landscape maintenance sites (mowing) and landscape enhancement sites. We offer competitive salaries. Job qualifications: two to three years experience with landscape machinery, mowing equipment and landscape installation equipment.  HLS maintains a drug- and alcohol-free workplace and work force.
